5. Gang Gang Dance – Eye Contact

Now playing: Glass Jar
Manhattan experimental electro rockist’s Gang Gang Dance struck gold with their fifth album. These songs sprawl and emerge from the ether erupting into skittering beats, fat synth sounds and spattered liberally with poignant ghostly vocals.
The result is a triumphant mix of the weird and wonderful and the existence of remarkable songs as a result particularly the wonderfully heady infusion of world beats and western grime that is ‘Glass Jar’. They’ve been around for a while now but the stars collided to match the music to the times, or us to them, or something like that anyway.
Beautifully heart wrenching in exactly the right way.
